The world is getting smaller day by day but bands like HUMILIATION from the Far East are still special in some way. The young band from Malaysia was founded in 2009 and it’s more than just a coincidence that the band photo shows four fellows wearing BOLT THROWER and BENEDICTION shirts. The band offers European style Death Metal with a good sound – recorded in Malaysia, mastered in the US – right between the above mentioned bands plus from the vocal side of life some old SINISTER influences. Small point of criticism are the missing high speed parts – seems that HUMILIATION want to bring their music on this level but when my head is starting to move they just slow down. The final track 'Battlefield' is furthermore more or less a cover song - because the song is ‘decorated’ with so many BOLT THROWER fragments that more than a knowing smile comes over my face (nevertheless a convincing track). Humiliation "face the disaster" review from Lords of Metal, Holland

Humiliation, a Malaysian band consisting of four members released this four-track MCD recently. A raw death metal release, borrowing some Bolt Thrower influences and with quite cool solos. Good straightforward, without escapades that don’t work for death metal. I normally do not really prefer Malaysian death metal, my suspicion is eased by the very charming note from band leader Bear, the good artwork and printing on the CD and last but not least the songs on ‘Face the Disaster'. Nice to have the same style all four tracks long, and good to hear that this CD is absolutely not over-produced. It greatly fits the mood!

We experience no problems? Sure do, four songs is enough for me really, except if this CD does not cost much at all. Do we know more about this? No, of course not! The quest for clarity on this disc left me concluding that this band and the label own no homepage or MySpace, phone, fax, or postal registration at all. Yet this short CD is worth listening to if you like bands or styles mentioned above just send an email to humiliationband@gmail.com, and it solves all your questions!

I can now tick of Malaysia on my ‘having one album for every country in the world’ list, thanks to Humiliation. These Malaysian death mongers adore all things Bolt Thrower, as the opening helicopter noise sequence signals the start of an old school death metal rampage. The band offers nothing that the Brummy bulldozers haven’t done already countless times and better but there is no denying the homage as “Nuclear Imaging” is straight from the “Realm Of Chaos” way of battering the listener. The sound is early 90s with an organic drum sound and a suitably gritty guitar. “Strategy” is similar as Bee (vocals) has a Martin Van Drunen bellow which is no bad thing. The band needs to work on the leads or remove them completely as they come across as stagnant and out of tune in places.

“Fragging” begins slightly differently, Asphyx like, but it isn’t long before the Bolt Thrower influence returns when the riff changes which fits well with the tank like double bass kick thud. The snare roll that starts “Battlefield” is far too close to Boltthrower as I thought the song was a cover initially. However the song has the fastest section, approaching blast and despite its wrought similarity to Bolt Thrower I enjoyed this CD and is worthy of a listen if you like old school pulverising death metal that batters like an artillery attack.
