And just like that, Humiliation’s debut full-length is done and is sitting in front of me. It was only a few weeks ago that I was even introduced to them in the form of their EP, Face the Disaster where I could not wait to hear more. I love not having to wait, especially when the result is something this awesome.

Humiliation’s Dawn of Warfare is picking up the baton that Bolt Thrower so unceremoniously left for someone to find. Chugging, heavy-as-hell riffs marching through at mid-tempo accompanied by double bass drums pounding the ground into submission accurately describes this album. It’s flat-out eerie how similar to Bolt Thrower they are, complete with the occasional wild solo that doesn’t seem out of place in the slightest. With as formulaic as this sound may seem when turned into the written word, what’s so great about that classic Bolt Thrower sound is that they were always able to make new, fresh songs using the same mold over and over. That’s exactly what Dawn of Warfare is to a T. Every song follows the same blueprint, but each has its own identity and is just as memorable as the last song.

Again, like the EP, the production is just right. It’s dirty but only because the music is dirty, not because of the way it was recorded. Everything is thick and powerful without compromising a single note. Everyone's instrument is audible and BearBee’s vocals are as primitively punishing as one could ask for in death metal. It’s this type of organic growl that sets apart quite a few death metal bands out there and will be highly appreciated by the die-hards and purists.

It’s difficult to attempt to put into words the subtle differences between the songs, but just know that “Capping the T,” “Mutiny” and “Mustard Gas” are a three-piece that will have you in a sixteen-minute-long headbang and are easily the most pummeling sixteen minutes in death metal this year.

The problem is going to be tracking this album down as they have virtually no internet presence at all and neither does their label. Do what you can though as Dawn of Warfare is by far the diamond in the rough of 2010 and an album you seriously need to own.

HUMILIATION has unleashed their first full length album in the form of "DAWN OF WARFARE". These guys play some heavy as hell Death Metal music and mix in some flavoring of Thrash Metal. Most of the music is Death Metal based. The Thrash Metal influences are more present in the guitar work. They have an old school vibe to their style which takes me back to a lot of the early 90's Death Metal greats. They have a killer groove mixed within all the aggression and brutality too. The vocals are a mid ranged Death growl style with some lower ones mixed in. These guys are one of the best Malaysian Metal bands I've heard in a long time. This is a must for any fan of early 90's Death Metal. Buy this album!!!

The world is getting smaller day by day but bands like HUMILIATION from the Far East are still special in some way. The young band from Malaysia was founded in 2009 and it’s more than just a coincidence that the band photo shows four fellows wearing BOLT THROWER and BENEDICTION shirts. The band offers European style Death Metal with a good sound – recorded in Malaysia, mastered in the US – right between the above mentioned bands plus from the vocal side of life some old SINISTER influences. Small point of criticism are the missing high speed parts – seems that HUMILIATION want to bring their music on this level but when my head is starting to move they just slow down. The final track 'Battlefield' is furthermore more or less a cover song - because the song is ‘decorated’ with so many BOLT THROWER fragments that more than a knowing smile comes over my face (nevertheless a convincing track). Humiliation "face the disaster" review from Lords of Metal, Holland

Humiliation, a Malaysian band consisting of four members released this four-track MCD recently. A raw death metal release, borrowing some Bolt Thrower influences and with quite cool solos. Good straightforward, without escapades that don’t work for death metal. I normally do not really prefer Malaysian death metal, my suspicion is eased by the very charming note from band leader Bear, the good artwork and printing on the CD and last but not least the songs on ‘Face the Disaster'. Nice to have the same style all four tracks long, and good to hear that this CD is absolutely not over-produced. It greatly fits the mood!

We experience no problems? Sure do, four songs is enough for me really, except if this CD does not cost much at all. Do we know more about this? No, of course not! The quest for clarity on this disc left me concluding that this band and the label own no homepage or MySpace, phone, fax, or postal registration at all. Yet this short CD is worth listening to if you like bands or styles mentioned above just send an email to humiliationband@gmail.com, and it solves all your questions!

I can now tick of Malaysia on my ‘having one album for every country in the world’ list, thanks to Humiliation. These Malaysian death mongers adore all things Bolt Thrower, as the opening helicopter noise sequence signals the start of an old school death metal rampage. The band offers nothing that the Brummy bulldozers haven’t done already countless times and better but there is no denying the homage as “Nuclear Imaging” is straight from the “Realm Of Chaos” way of battering the listener. The sound is early 90s with an organic drum sound and a suitably gritty guitar. “Strategy” is similar as Bee (vocals) has a Martin Van Drunen bellow which is no bad thing. The band needs to work on the leads or remove them completely as they come across as stagnant and out of tune in places.

“Fragging” begins slightly differently, Asphyx like, but it isn’t long before the Bolt Thrower influence returns when the riff changes which fits well with the tank like double bass kick thud. The snare roll that starts “Battlefield” is far too close to Boltthrower as I thought the song was a cover initially. However the song has the fastest section, approaching blast and despite its wrought similarity to Bolt Thrower I enjoyed this CD and is worthy of a listen if you like old school pulverising death metal that batters like an artillery attack.
